Your data: download it or delete your account
Take a copy of everything you've put on the site, or delete your account, and what happens to shared trips, reviews and notes when you do.
Updated October 19, 2026
Both are on one page: open the menu under your name, click Settings, then Download my data or Delete my account (or go straight to Your data).
Download your data
Click Download my data. You get a zip file with:
| File | What's in it |
|---|---|
account.json |
Your account, settings, profile and travel preferences |
travel_profile.json |
Your travel profile: passport and trusted-traveler details, and your loyalty programs |
bucket_list.json |
Your goals, their categories and your badges |
reviews.json, trip_notes.json |
Reviews you wrote, and notes you left on trips |
trips.json |
Every trip you're on, as you can see it (other people appear by name only) |
contributions.json |
Activities, events and places you added to the catalogue |
notifications.json |
Your notifications |
files/ |
The photos and tickets you uploaded |
The file is made when you click and isn't kept on our server. You can download it again after 10 minutes.
Delete your account
- On Your data, under Delete your account, type your password.
- Tick the box to confirm and click Delete my account.
You're signed out, your account is hidden (your public bucket list and profile disappear), and we send you no more emails except one confirming the date. After 30 days it's deleted for good. Signing in before then cancels it.
When it's deleted:
| What | Happens |
|---|---|
| Your bucket list, photos, travel profile, loyalty programs, notifications, calendar links | Deleted |
| Trips you started that other people are on | Stay with them: the longest-standing other editor takes them over (or, if there's none, the person who's been on the trip longest becomes an editor) |
| Trips only you are on | Deleted, with their photos and tickets |
| Tickets you added to a shared trip | Stay with that trip's bookings |
| Your reviews and notes on shared trips | Stay, shown as from "A former member" |
| Places, events and activities you added to the catalogue | Stay, without your name |
Our backups keep copies for up to 12 months before they expire; we never use them to bring an account back.
When our terms change
When we change our Terms of Service or Privacy policy, the next time you sign in or open a page you're asked to read and accept the new version before carrying on. The pages you need stay open while you decide: the Terms, Privacy policy, Help, and this page if you'd rather delete your account. Each policy shows its version near the top.
Problems
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| "That isn't your password" | Type the password you sign in with. Forgot it? Reset it from the sign-in page first. |
| "You downloaded your data a few minutes ago" | Wait 10 minutes and try again. |
| I asked to delete my account by mistake | Sign in within 30 days; it's cancelled and nothing is lost. |
